Cano
Roberto Cano López (Málaga, 1990) is a producer, director and screenwriter. Creator of the production company The Lord Of The VideosIn 2015 he directed and wrote his first short film, Me Gustas, a comedy about social networks, with which he won an award at the Malaga Film Festival with the Biznaga for Best Fiction Short Film Malaga Section 2015.
It has gone through the EICTV (Cuba), ECAM (Madrid) and Cristina Rota to develop his career as a director studying several disciplines within the audiovisual framework: acting in front of the camera, assistant director, director of photography and several scriptwriting courses with Daniel Tubau, Virginia Yagüe or Maite Buenafuente.
Won 2 awards in Vimeo Weekend Challenge with short humor videos, continued making short films that were nominated in international festivals and in 2022, he premiered “Imbécil” at the Malaga Film Festival where he won the Biznaga Audience Award Malaga 2022 Section.
In his career he has written, produced and directed all his works, and he has shot his first short films with renowned actors such as Fernando Tejero, María Esteve, Silma López, Silma López o Jon Olivares.
He directed and wrote music videos for musicians of the Malaga music scene such as El Kanka, Dry Martina or Jarrillo’ Lata. He has also directed advertising for brands such as Dunkin’ Coffee, Ron Arehucas, Giants, Sector Alarm, and has worked on international series for Bambú Producciónes (No Return) y Netflix (Black Mirror).
